According to a Reddit post, the Blue Jays notified the 2021 Home run leader about a mechanical issue in May 2023. However, the latter refused to work on it, showing his stubbornness. But there is a change and Vladimir Guerrero Jr is working to correct the mistake. Although no official statement has come up regarding this case, the proper analysis does sync with the issue reflected.

Every MLB season is played in two halves, with the All-Star during the break. Though for most players, the second half shows the growth, for Guerrero Jr., the opposite happened. After making it to the All-star, he lost the touch, as visible in statistics from the two halves of the season.

Notably, the first baseman recorded an average of 0.274 with 42 runs and 48 RBIs before the break, all thanks to his performances in April. However, a dip was seen starting from May, which remained the same after the break. Hence, the star player could only score 36 runs and 36 RBIs while averaging 0.251.
