Baseball games are exciting to watch for a number of reasons. Even if one is not a sports enthusiast, the adrenaline rush from watching a player hit a long ball is undeniable. Home runs make any game more exciting. It’s only the first month of the Major League Baseball season, but fans have already been treated to some exciting plays.
Aaron Judge broke yet another home run record. The Tampa Bay Rays are leading the scoreboard where homers are concerned. Second in line after them are the Atlanta Braves. During the opening weekend of 2023, a sports memorabilia collector called More Than Sports gifted a giant hat to Ozzie Albies and A.J. Minter. The Braves decided to use that hat, which features the official team logo, for all future home run celebrations. In no time, it became a fan-favorite tradition to watch players don the larger-than-life cap in the dugout. But apparently, the Atlanta team won’t be able to do that anymore.

MLB’s official on-field hat manufacturer, New Era, was not happy with the Braves using a hat that was not designed by them. After a complaint to the league regarding the matter, MLB ruled in favor of removing the hat from all further celebrations.
In such a short time, baseball fans became attached to the Braves’ tradition. But the hat’s absence at recent games sparked outrage against New Era across social media.

Most hoped that New Era would make the Braves a similar hat so that the home run tradition can continue.
That is ridiculous. I hope people boycott New Era. What they should have done is make the Braves a replacement hat.

Why doesn’t New Era just make a big hat for them and then sell them in stores?
