Derek Jeter started playing baseball pretty early on in his career. It was no one but his father, Dr. Sanderson Charles Jeter, because of whom Captain Clutch began to play the ballgame. Jeter played the game for over two decades. And his unwavering commitment to the sport was evident in every game he prepared for. The skills that Derek learned from the sport shaped him as an individual equipped to adapt to any situation in life.

Now, Jeter wants his daughters to learn the same skills he learned from playing ball. Probably because he wants them to be prepared for anything while finding their passion in life. In a recent interview with E News, the five-time World Series champion spoke about why he wants his daughters to go into sports. He does not want them to do precisely what he did. Instead, he wants them to learn the skills only playing sports can teach.

Ever since Captain Clutch became a father, he and his wife, Hannah Jeter, have spoken multiple times about how they want their kids to grow up, having as normal a life as possible. Though, it might not be possible because of their stature. Derek and Hannah have said they want their girls to become whomever they want in whatever field they would like. But being a sportsperson, Derek wants his girls to be involved in sports to become the best version of themselves.

While talking about his girls, Jeter said, “They were taking tennis lessons for a while.” Adding to it, he said, “I want my girls to be involved in sports, just because there’s lessons that you learn from playing sports like work ethic, teamwork, setting goals, and you have to deal with failure.”

No one forced the Hall of Famer to enter the sports world. Similarly, he does not want to force his girls to be involved in sports. Instead, he just wants sports to be a part of their lives to help them learn the skills only sports can teach.

Jeter obliges to every want of his girls!

Captain Clutch might have been the force in the ballpark during his playing days. But that changed after his retirement and when he became a father.

Like any other doting father, he obliges to almost every request his girls make. It does not matter, even if it is getting a manicure from them or wearing cartoon necklaces, and he will do it. Also, he knows how to bribe them to get them to do his bidding. For those wondering, that bribe is nothing more than ice cream.
