While the result of the game wasn’t in the Pirates’ favor, Rodolfo Castro made the news for a bizarre and unconventional reason. MLB has also launched a full-scale investigation into this absurd bungle by the Pittsburgh infielder. Arizona Diamondbacks are currently leading the 4-match series, 2-1.
As Castro slid headfirst towards base three, amusingly, his phone fell out of his back pocket. Castro, on the other hand, was yet to realize what had happened.

Eventually, the umpire, Adam Hamari, informed Castro that he’d dropped his cell phone. Castro immediately handed the phone to his coach. At the same time, this incident left the commentary box laughing on the floor. Now, Castro looks all set to receive a “phone” call from the MLB as well.
What does Rodolfo Castro have to say about this incident?
After the game, Castro showed repentance and said that it was ?very unintentional.??Via an interpreter, he said, “The last thing I wanted was to be the center of attention through this form.”?
“I don?t think there?s any professional ballplayer that would ever go out there with any intentions of taking a cellphone. It?s horrible it happened to me,” Castro said while showing remorse fronting the incident. Castro had placed his oven mitt in his back pocket to prevent hand injuries. Because of this, he forgot about his phone.
Pirates’ manager Derek Shelton, standing behind Castro, said, ?You stay around the game and you see things you haven?t seen before. This was just a kid who made a mistake. It?s just one of those things we move forward from and tell him, ?You can?t do that.??
