While Juan Soto unwinds in the off-season with some Call of Duty, the teams in the MLB are going berserk, wanting to clench him from the free-agent market. It almost seems like to be the favorite to the World Series next season, one needs Soto by their side. It’s exactly like the off-season that happened last year, but then, Shohei Ohtani was the center of attention.
Juan Soto is expecting a $600 million contract and a winning team to join. And well, Soto’s statistics do justify a major payday. He was a four-time all-star with 41 home runs last season. Plus, at twenty-six, he has a long and productive year still to look forward to. And it seems like his agent, the famous Scott Boras, has the groundwork for a rather historic bidding war. Insider Hector Gomez revealed that it’s going to be the Mets for the win!

Hector Gomez, someone who had previously offered the scoop of December 2023, that Juan Soto was traded to the New York Yankees, has fresh news. According to him, a person close to Soto had told him that he would be surprised if it was not the Mets who didn’t sign him. According to the source, the talks are mostly around becoming the highest-paid player of all time – even outbidding Ohtani!
A person very close to Juan Soto: “I would be very surprised if the #Mets don’t sign him in the free agency. The talks are based around the fact that he could become the highest paid player of all time”.

Juan Soto spoke to the media immediately after losing in the World Series. It was then that many found it strange that he would discuss free agency after losing one of the most important games of his life. He said he is willing to listen to all teams who are willing to make an offer. But by the sounds of it, it sounds like who offers more money. Recently, even Jon Heyman from New York confirmed that Soto is looking for $700 million or more.
What’s your perspective on:
Will Juan Soto's decision be swayed by cash, or is a World Series ring his true goal?
Have an interesting take?
The New York Yankees and the Mets were already in the picture, but now in the picture is the Blue Jays team. Surprising, but apparently they are geared to make a big payout, but apparently Steve Cohen, the Mets owner, doesn’t want to back out. This is getting very exciting. But while Hector Gomez says money is where Soto is, his agent is in disagreement.
Will Juan Soto choose a ‘winning’ team?
Scott Boras is no stranger to making those big money deals. However, with Juan Soto, while he has to remain certainly tight-lipped, Boras has recently revealed where the priorities lie, noting that winning is at the top of Juan Soto’s mind when choosing a team. Boras told ESPN’s Jorge Castillo, “Juan loves winning and winning organizations and a winning owner”, while adding, “His main thing, the priority, is winning.” This is in complete contradiction to the ‘money’ theory.

However, it’s not so simple because Soto, as we know, chooses to stay on the East Coast. Which is why most think that Dodgers are out of the picture. But if winning is the priority, what makes him not sign with the LA Dodgers? Plus, if it’s the New York Yankees, we saw them slag badly during the World Series. In that case, they might offer Soto all the money, and he might sign with them!
Juan Soto won’t come cheap, neither will he settle for a mediocre team. Soto wants another chance at the World Series ring after all, so, who do you think will be able to snag him? Let us know in the comments.
