Having played the game of baseball for over two decades, Derek Jeter ruled an era in MLB. One thing that stood out about Jeter’s game was that he always prioritized the team ahead of himself.

From being an ordinary kid in Kalamazoo, to becoming a symbol in the Bronx, Jeter has come a long way. Apart from being an excellent ballplayer, Jeter is an even better human being. Recently, Jeter celebrated 26 years of his Turn 2 Foundation, which motivates people to have a healthy lifestyle. 

And the occasion became just bigger, when an Olympic gold medalist and WNBA superstar, Stefanie Dolson, joined the Yankees legend.

Taking to Instagram, Derek Jeter shared a photo with Stefanie Dolson in his story. The former New York Yankees captain even captioned the photo with his trademark signature “Re2pect.” When talking about Stefanie, the WNBA star plays for the New York Liberty, and has also won a gold medal in the Olympics for Team USA.

On the occasion of 26 years of the Turn 2 Foundation, Jeter also interacted with the media. Notably, the Yankees legend started Turn 2 Foundation with his father in 1996. And even after so many years; Jeter found it unbelievable that he has been running this foundation for so many years.

“First of all, it’s hard to believe it’s been 26 years. That means I’m getting old,” Jeter said to PIX11 News. “It’s very rewarding. Our foundation means so much to me and means so much to our entire family.”

What does the Turn 2 Foundation do?

The first and foremost motive of the Turn 2 Foundation is to create awareness amongst the young generation to stay away from unhealthy things, such as drugs and alcohol; motivate people to a healthy lifestyle to create a better ecosystem in their surroundings.

As of now, Turn 2 has generated over $30 million and donated the same to needy organisations that support its mission.
