Babe Ruth – The Curse of the Bambino
Babe Ruth made his Boston Red Sox debut in 1914. After a fruitful start to his career with three World Championship Rings, in 1920, then Red Sox owner Harry Frazee made a controversial decision and sold Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees.
This bold decision ensued an 86-year-long period where the Boston Red Sox failed to win a single World Championship from 1918 to 2004, while their fierce competitor dominated the sport. After moving to the Yankees in 1920, Babe Ruth won five World Championships till 1934. Later, he moved to the Boston Braves for the ultimate season of his career.

His controversial trade in 1920 instigated the commencement of one of the greatest rivalries in sporting history: New York Yankees vs Boston Red Sox. Today, while the Pinstripes hold a significant lead against the BoSox in their 2,320 appearances with 1,257 victories, their postseason record stands leveled with 12 victories each.
