An icon, a leader, a fine shortstop, and an excellent team man, Derek Jeter, was a rare breed in baseball. Having played the game for over two decades for the same franchise, Jeter is one of the rare athletes who have the luxury of calling themselves a one-team man.

Recently, the former New York Yankees captain Derek Jeter appeared on Angie Martinez’s podcast, where he discussed his personal and professional life in detail. While doing so, Jeter also discussed his biggest fear.

The MLB Hall of Famer said before joining the Pinstripes in the 90s, he would hate to speak in front of people. It was his biggest fear. Jeter also revealed he would hesitate to read even a school presentation in front of his parents.

“When I was younger, my biggest fear… first of all, my biggest fear in life is being unprepared. My biggest fear is being unprepared, but I hated it speaking in front of people…,” Derek Jeter said.
Jeter: A Yankees icon
Derek Jeter has become a symbolic figure for The Bronx Bombers. While playing for over two decades, Jeter helped the Yankees win five championships in Major League Baseball. Although the Yankees were already a heavyweight in MLB, Jeter’s arrival brought the lost glories to the Bronx.
