The 2023 MLB off-season has been flush with big moves and surprise deals out of the blue. But one team that has disappointed their fans the most is the Boston Red Sox. Their off-season additions have left a lot to be desired, with veterans past their prime and unproven talent being signed. Furthermore, the Red Sox lost franchise star Xander Bogaerts as he signed with the San Diego Padres in his free agency.

The Red Sox had a rough 2022 season, finishing at the bottom of the AL East. Most recently, the Red Sox fans received one more sad news, as a hero from their title-winning season in 2018 bid farewell to the game.?

Boston Red Sox fans have had a tough time this off-season, with disappointing moves from the top brass. But most recently, former Red Sox star and 2018 World Series Champion Mitch Moreland retired from baseball. Moreland was not signed for the 2022 season and looked likely to remain a free agent for the upcoming season. Baseball Insider Tyler Milliken shared a Tweet confirming the news and honoring Moreland.?

In the Tweet, he said, ?Congratulations to Mitch Moreland on officially announcing his retirement. One of my favorite Red Sox players to root for in recent memory. By the way, this ball still hasn?t landed.??

The news has resulted in an outpouring of support from fans. Some remembered his great moments. Others wished him well in retirement. There was general support for Moreland as he embarks on his post-playing journey.?

With spring training going on, the Red Sox fans do not have much to celebrate. Even Spring Training brought more loss to the Red Sox, as Justin Turner suffered a brutal injury. But things are starting to look great for the team, at least in Spring Training.?

Boston Red Sox fans are celebrating as their team dominates Spring Training. They have won all 8 of their Grapefruit League games, and are the only unbeaten team left in Spring Training. Although this form is unlikely to carry into the regular season, it gives fans something to celebrate.
