With the help of one of his mentors, Warren Buffett, A-Rod, has learned to stay in his lane, really understand it, and be better at it. Now when the host of Club 30 asked Rodriguez about what scratches the itch in his life, the former World Series Champ talked about the biggest bet of his life.
“My biggest bet, my most exciting bet, besides being a New York Yankee and a father, is being co-owners with my partners with the Timberwolves, and how we can drive that,” said the $350 million worth baseball legend. He also added, “Now in the ecosystem of sports, sports is just the small fraction of that, you have real estate, you have entertainment, you have media, you have arena, and you have 29 other great partners in other markets.”
NBA’s Timberwolves have clinched the playoff berth for the second time in a row under A-Rod’s leadership. It is indeed a mega achievement, and needless to say, the former Yankee is happy about it. The 14x All-Star was doing it with Marc Lore, and his ex-fiancee pop icon Jennifer Lopez. However, together, the three of them could not stand up to the $2.4 billion offered by the current owner of the Mets’ Steve Cohen. Hence, the ball got dropped out of the court.
