Major League Baseball has seen many interesting developments this season. With some surprising positions in division standings as well as huge upsets, there have been good performances too. One team that doesn’t seem to be having the best start is the Oakland Athletics. Amid dwindling attendance numbers, the team’s owner announced relocation to Las Vegas.
And now, it looks like another team might face the threat of moving because of its ballpark. The NL Central’s Milwaukee Brewers are in serious trouble. MLB gave the team a warning to repair their ballpark and the league’s smallest market is trying to do its best to move accordingly.

The Brewers and American Family Field currently have an agreement that runs through 2030. Opened in 2001, the ballpark is still owned by taxpayers. Any stadium would go through wear and tear after two decades of use, but in MLB’s opinion, American Family Field is in bad shape. Rick Schlesinger, Brewers president of business operations, told FOX 6 Milwaukee, “The goal here is for people to come to this ballpark for the next 20 years and, hopefully, beyond and recognize this is a great facility.”
The Brewers have laid out plans for $448 million in upgrades — backed by MLB — to their home ballpark.
If Wisconsin cannot approve spending on the Brewers, whispers of relocation could reportedly hit Milwaukee.

The team needs the Wisconsin legislature to approve a plan to finance $448 million in long-term renovations if they are to stay in Milwaukee. According to Front Office Sports, conversations between the club, league, and local officials are still ongoing.
The main point of contention is the Republican-controlled legislature resisting Wisconsin’s Democrat Gov. Tony Evers’ efforts to secure the $290 million in funding. MLB is supposedly getting involved as well, with commissioner Rob Manfred set to make a visit on Thursday. The Brewers will be playing against the San Diego Padres.
Baseball fans are not happy to see how things are going
While any fan would be distraught to see their favorite team move away from their city, Brewers fans are especially angry. One positive point in the ballpark’s favor is its regularly high numbers of attendance, which fans didn’t fail to point out.
This is so ridiculous. There are plenty of stadiums in worst shape. Small market or not, the Brewers are always top 15 in attendance (usually closer to top 10) and always rank near the top for tv ratings. I wish the Brewers didn’t have such a cheap owner.

Most thought that the chances of the team moving are highly unlikely.
There is a less than 0% chance of the Brewers leaving Milwaukee.

One pointed out how MLB allowed the New York Mets to play at Shea Stadium despite its shortcomings.
Lol but MLB let the Mets play in Shea for 45 years.
