League Commissioner Rob Manfred, too, in certain remarks, has indicated that the franchise may have to look away from the city if no new legislation is passed by this fall to ensure the upkeep of the Brewers’ home stadium. According to a recent report published by the franchise, the funding provided by the State of Wisconsin could be insufficient. If going by the current legislation, the funding would fall short of the required upkeep of the American Family Field. And while the situation is different from the Oakland Athletics, the fans’ reactions remain the same. They want the franchises to stay.
Given that the state essentially holds ownership of the ballpark, it should be reasonable to anticipate that they will provide the necessary funding. If even to maintain the ballpark’s quality for at least the next seven years, which corresponds to the length of the lease.

However, if the state shows no intention of fulfilling this responsibility, the team will need to look at its options. The team may need to begin considering other potential locations. Relocation is a time-consuming process, and any delay in initiating it could lead to significant time passing before a new location is secured.
