So, back in 2020, former US President Barack Obama indulged in gift-sharing with Alex Rodriguez and his then-partner Jennifer Lopez.

And the Yankees legend was over the moon after receiving a precious gift from Obama. The 44th president and former Yankees player probably know each other from a White House visit. The Yankees stopped by the White House back in 2010 after winning the Fall Classic in 2009, and A-Rod likely met Obama for the first time back then.

So what did J-Lo and Alex Rodriguez receive from Obama?

In November 2020, the ex-POTUS published a memoir called A Promised Land. And this was the thoughtful gift he sent to the shortstop and his singer fiancée. Around Christmas that year, A-Rod proudly shared his gift on social media.

“I got a nice book today from one of the GOATS,” A-Rod shared on his Instagram. He held up the book and even shared the title page, which had a sweet message from Obama. The politician thanked the couple for their friendship, “To Jennifer and Alex, with gratitude for your friendship and support,” and signed it below. Rodriguez captioned the post, saying, “What a tremendous gift from our former President. I can’t wait to immerse myself in this book! What’s on your reading list?”

He ended the video by saying he had some reading to do and that it would take a long time. And this was completely understandable since the huge tome is 768 pages long! The memoir details the journey of Obama’s early years of the presidency as well as his career before becoming the leader of the free world. He also discusses the events that led to the Osama bin Laden incident in May 2011.

This was not the first time Obama surprised the couple

In 2019, when Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez got engaged, Michelle and Barack Obama sent them a congratulatory letter. The handwritten note felicitated the couple and Barack talked about his own marriage to Michelle. “After 26 years together, we can say that whatever challenges life may bring, sharing them with someone you love makes it all better,” Obama wrote.

Rodriguez shared the letter on an Instagram post, captioning it, “This means the world to us. #44” From the looks of it, even superstars like Lopez and Rodriguez could be starstruck!
