Only half of the season is left for the MLB sensation Shohei Ohtani to test the waters of free agency. With every passing second, the excitement for the same has been building up in the baseball world. And if the reports surfaced are true, then in his free agency, Shotime will end up getting a contract as big as half a billion dollars. While free agency is still a few months away, Shohei is proving that he is worth every penny by being iconic at the plate and at the mound as well.

And now, when the LA Angels are in the middle of their four-game series against the Texas Rangers, Ohtani blasted two home runs. By doing so, he helped his team win the game by a lead of 3. And as it happened, his teammate and one of his good friendsPrince Fish Mike Trout, has crowned him with a monumental label that adds to his many titles. Seems like it takes one star to recognize the other.

Within moments of the Angels putting up the celebratory post, Shohei’s friend and teammate, Mike Trout, commented with an emoticon of a goat. One single emoticon was enough to show what Ohtani means to him.

Trout has already signed one of the biggest MLB contracts of $426.5 million for twelve years. Meanwhile, his teammate is in talks of getting a contract as big as $500 million. It might mean that Shohei would go to a different team. But Trout will do the needful and try his best to keep him in the Angels with him.

Trout wants him and Ohtani to stay in one team!

Before the 2023 regular season even began, talks of Ohtani’s free agency had already started brewing in the baseball world. While the talks took place, the reporters wanted to know the thoughts of Mike Trout on it. Mike said that it is high time for him and the team to enter the playoffs and make a run for it. He also added that if it happened, it’ll be a plus point to keep Ohtani with the Angels.

About talking to Shohei about his future, Trout said“I haven’t really talked to Shohei about his future. If he feels like staying in Anaheim is the right move, he should do that. If he thinks otherwise, I’m going to do as much as I can to convince him to stay.”

Not even the Angels and not even Mike Trout are going to let Ohtani leave without trying their best to keep him in Anaheim. Trout and Ohtani are undoubtedly two of the best players in the league. And watching whether this pair will end up in different teams would be tough for many.
