Derek Jeter garnered the love and respect of the city’s people not only in the ballpark but also on the streets of the Big Apple. Apart from being known as a modern Yankee legend, he was also famous for loving the city’s nightlife. When talking about nightlife in NY, partying in clubs is probably the most common in the city. Even though Jeter was a big personality since he played for the Yankees, there was someone else from the other side of the town who enjoyed the infamous nightlife of the NY City.

Former player of the Mets, Mike Piazza, was also a socializer. But apparently, he wasn’t allowed to hit the same clubs that the iconic shortstop used to go. In other words, Jeter’s fans could not see anyone visiting the club that he frequently visited. And in a similar manner of being blatant about their voices in the ballpark, they used to be vocal about their feelings when they saw the Mets legend going to Jeter’s probably favorite club.

Derek Jeter has the most loyal fans

Two of the royalties of New York were Derek Jeter and Mike Piazza. Rivals on the field, the New York Post discovered them in entirely different ways during their time off. There was a club called Life on Bleecker Street, which the captain frequently visited, and the Mets’ star also liked to visit the place.

In October 1999, when the Mets’ player drove by the club in a Lincoln, because of his fame, fans noticed him. To his dismay, they were Jeter’s fans. Therefore, as soon as those  fans saw him, they said, “Don’t even think about it, Piazza!” 

The club, Life, is one of the many places that the former shortstop frequently visited during the off-season to enjoy some drinks with teammates Chuck Knoblauch and Tino Martinez. Unknowingly, Jeter had marked the place as his own.

Jeter had a great year in 1999

The year 1999 was special for not only Jeter but the entire Yankees clubhouse. It was the year that Jeter had won his third world series ring. It was notable for him in every other season.

Notably, the late 90s was the peak time as an MLB franchise for the New York Yankees. And with Jeter playing by their side, the Yankees dominated the league for over five years. Notably, the Derek Jeter-starred team won four World Series titles between 1995 and 2000.
