Cuban-born Nestor Cortes Jr. or Nasty Nestor moved to Florida when he was only seven months old. Since then, the Cuban-American lefty pitcher became a Miami fan. From the Marlins in the Major Leagues to the Miami Heat in NBA, Nasty Nestor is a massive Miami sports fan, and the same was evident when he got to meet his idol when the Miami Heat took on Alex Rodriguez’s Minnesota Timberwolves at FTX Arena in Miami.

But after meeting the idol, the 2022 All-Star funnily got dwarfed, and despite receiving a jersey from the three-time Miami Heat NBA Champion, given the one-feet difference in height, that jersey would barely fit the New York Yankees pitcher.

At FTX Arena, the New York Yankees star met ex-Miami Heat power forward Udonis Haslem, who looked more than happy to see Nestor Cortes Jr. on the court. Nasty Nestor, who started his professional baseball career with Florida International University, grew up watching the now 42-year-old Haslem and reached his Instagram with a heartfelt note for the 3-time NBA champion that fulfilled his fanboy moment.

Fanboy Nestor Cortes Jr. captioned his Instagram post: “What an incredible experience and human being. Captain of the 305 !!! I respect and admire everything you do.”

However, that was not the end of the story. Udonis Haslem noticed the Pinstripes pitcher’s admiration for him and presented the young man with one of his jerseys. In retrospect, it is worth noting that the jersey would have likely been too large for the 5’11 Nestor Cortes Jr., given the significant difference in height between him and the towering 6’7 Udonis Haslem.

How did fans react to Nestor Cortes Jr. meeting Udonis Haslem?

Nasty Nestor’s Instagram post generated loads of love for the two athletes with comments like, “Miami high and Hialeah high,” “The collab I didn’t know I needed,” and “Big Haslem Miami Legend.”

Twitter, on the other hand, was least bothered by the interaction of the two stars, and barely reacted to their union.

One hilarious comment represented the concern about Haslem’s jersey being too large for Nasty Nestor.
