It has been a disappointing season for the New York Mets so far, if not a few wins in their recent games. Despite this, they remain one of the MLB’s biggest markets, with some top celebrities supporting the team. Furthermore, the Mets are directly involved with some massive projects. Most recently, the team’s mascot interacted with a star-studded cast of a top upcoming movie while hinting at a potential cameo.

This comes at a time when Mets fans are lamenting what looks like a lost season. The team’s mascot, Mr. Met, hung out with the cast of a $100 million film, starring Cillian Murphy. Apart from a few other top stars, a die-hard Red Sox fan also made his way into the frame.

The upcoming film Oppenheimer is a highly anticipated biographical thriller that follows the story of Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer. For those unversed, he was recognized as the creator of the atomic bomb. Most recently, Mr. Met was seen in the frame with the cast of this upcoming thriller. The official Twitter page of the mascot shared a picture with the cast. It included Cillian Murphy, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., and Emily Blunt along with her husband Jack Krasinski, a die-hard Red Sox fan.

In a Tweet, Mr. Met said, “Linking up with the Oppenheimer cast…surprise cameo incoming?” This comes just days before the film is set to release in theatres. Much anticipation has built over the cast and now fans might get a cameo from the Mets’ mascot.

Fans got to see something exciting rather than the gloom that surrounds their favorite team. This event comes hours after a Mets rookie made his priorities very clear. But getting back to Mr. Met, this will not be his first time on TV. The iconic mascot has made many an appearance before.

Mr. Met has been on TV before

If Mr. Met makes an appearance on ‘Oppenheimer’, it would not be the mascot’s first cameo. Over the years since his live introduction as a mascot in 1964, Mr. Met has made appearances in several commercials and a couple of TV Shows as well. He featured in the remake of a TV sitcom ‘The Odd Couple’ and in 2019 appeared in an episode of ‘Madam Secretary’. Additionally, Mr. Met appeared in a 2013 MasterCard Commercial to end cancer. These are just a few of the more high-profile TV and big-screen cameos.
