The conversation eventually ended, and the play continued. Scherzer had a good game and finished with commendable figures, including nine strikeouts to his credit. The 130 million player pitched in six innings and gave two runs at an ERA of 3.87. But the highlight of his outing remained, the checking by the umpire.
