Life is extremely unpredictable and can end at any given moment. This happened with former New York Mets Minor League pitcher Matt Pobereyko just last week. The baseball pitcher collapsed in his Warrenville, Chicago apartment and was found dead by his girlfriend. Pobereyko was only 31 years old. His death has come as a shock to his family and the entire sporting world. 

If reports are true then, he passed away from an apparent heart attack, but the formal cause of death has not been confirmed yet. Most recently, Pobereyko was given a last goodbye following his heartbreaking passing.

Former New York Mets Minor League pitcher Matt Pobereyko tragically passed away last week. Most recently, he was given a last goodbye at a baseball stadium, according to MLB Insider Hector Gomez. Pobereyko had spent the last few years pitching in the Dominican and Mexican leagues among other independent Leagues.

In a Tweet, Hector Gomez said, “The last goodbye for former Mets minor league pitcher Matt Pobereyko, who passed away at the age of 31 due to a heart attack. He had pitched in the Mexican League and Dominican Winter League this offseason. Rest in peace.” The tribute involved letting balloons float into the sky in honor of Pobereyko. Many people will miss him.

They have not established a cause of death

The reason that Matt Pobereyko’s death is such a shock is due to his great physical health. As a professional athlete, he was working out regularly and was in good health. Furthermore, his brother Daniel has said that an autopsy revealed nothing outstanding about his condition. Matt was completely healthy and there were no obvious health issues that might have caused his death.
