Last year, the New York Yankees signed an infielder for a year and almost turned his career around. Notably, the year 2022 has marked itself in history for the Yanks because of the iconic year that Aaron Judge had. All Rise broke a record that was standing strong for six decades. However, little did Judge know that his historic season would leave such a significant impact on the infielder Matt Carpenter.
The infielder was coming off getting released from a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers. Carpenter only needed a little push to turn his career around. And the Yanks provided that push. Now, when Carpenter is with the San Diego Padres, he is heaping praises for the New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge. He did so while talking about the impact Judge left on him.

Carpenter is a 3x All-Star who faced quite a few hurdles in the last few years. The Yankees’ front office saw potential in him. Carpenter proved himself to be a good player. But he also had a front-row seat as history got rewritten with the 62nd homer of Aaron Judge. The former Yankees’ infielder recently sat for an episode of ‘The Chris Rose Rotation.‘ There, when the host asked him if he felt like a fan as he saw Judge making history, Matt had such an adorable answer that would melt any fan’s heart.

Replying to Rose, Matt said, “I don’t even know if that (being a fan of Aaron Judge) would give it, would do it justice. I mean, I just looked at him like a mythical hero. I felt like I was watching one of the legendary Yankees that you read about in books like a Babe Ruth or a Mickey Mantle.”

After comparing Aaron Judge to two of the baseball greats, Matt then proceeded to say that he was one of the best teammates he had ever had. After taking a short pause, Matt spoke about the thing that impressed him the most about Judge last year. It was him going through negotiations and turning down a good contract from the Yankees. And then it was him making the year 2022 an unforgettable one.
