Just when it seemed like the New York Yankees might turn around their win record, things went south. At the last game between the Bronx Bombers and Tampa Bay Rays, the New York team faced yet another loss. Fans were particularly angry at starter Clarke Schmidt, who surrendered singles to Wander Franco and Brandon Lowe.

Not only that but after walking Isaac Paredes and Josh Lowe, the Pinstripes skipper Aaron Boone removed him from the game. However, his replacement, Albert Abreu, made some mistakes too. When the Dominican player gave up a grand slam to Taylor Walls, thereby allowing the Rays to take the lead, things went completely wrong.

Every team loses some and wins some, but fans are disappointed to see the Yankees face more losses than victories. With declining player performance and some on the injured list, many have given up hope for the season.

At the last game with the Yankees’ Abreu pitching, the Rays’ Walls at the plate, and MLB’s Mike Muchlinski behind it, no one was happy. As Abreu gave up a grand slam to Walls, the Yankees’ pitching coach, Matt Blake, started yelling from the dugout. Not pleased with this behavior, the umpire was having none of it. “See ya later! Just get outta here!” Muchlinski yelled right back at him. Furthermore, the coach was ejected.

The Bronx team has not been performing up to their usual standards, according to fans. This recent game only served to make them angrier, as did this moment. They let it out at the umpire as well as the coach.

As usual, some were also upset at Boone.

Some were particularly upset with Abreu because he gave some solid performances last month. It’s his second stint in New York, so fans certainly had high expectations. After training with Blake, it was natural to see him blow up at that moment.
