Before moving into broadcasting, former Yankee, Mark Teixeira, played in the Major League Baseball for fourteen seasons. Having played in four different teams, it is safe to say that Tex knew many players closely. But there was a career other than being a broadcaster that once looked good for the former athlete. Once, Tex got the chance to show off his skills to Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter and was only able to ask him one single question.

It was his ability to show off his humor by interviewing teammates and other media members. He asked pretty simple questions, but the way he asked them, by becoming unbearably awkward, was hilarious for the viewers.
What did Mark Teixeira ask Derek Jeter that sent him away?
Tex wanted to show off his amazing interviewing skills in front of the Yankees legend, Derek Jeter. But asked him a question about the greats, Joe DiMaggio, and Mickey Mantle, that sent him straight back.
“Derek how does it feel to be so good and then in NY for so long.. Play with great Yankee players, and be thought of as the greatest like Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle… Derek is just.. he’s a great player,” Tex could not even complete the sentence, and Jeter just stood up and left.
The shortstop, Derek Jeter, has always been a Yankee. But Mark was a Yankee for eight long years from 2009 to 2016. This means both the players were Yankees at the same time for six years and also became World Series Champions together in 2009.
How did people react toward Mark mocking Jeter?
Hosting his very own segment at Yes Network is one of the achievements of Mark Teixeira. The show started in the spring training of the 2014 season. And people have loved it from the first episode.
People found the episode where Jeter was in was one of their top favorite ones.

One user said, “These are fantastic, Teix is hilarious! this is the best one yet!”
Not only this, people were somewhat sure of the career Mark would be having if or when he decided to retire from the game.
“I’m sure tex can easily find another job after retirement,” user James said.
