Former New York Yankees captain, Derek Jeter, has come into the support of Casey Close. Notably, the LA Dodgers star Freddie Freeman fired Casey Close for hiding an alleged final offer from his previous franchise, the Atlanta Braves, during the 2022 free agency.
Freddie Freeman has been going through a lot recently. Ever since Freeman has fired his agent, Casey Close, the former Braves star has been surrounded by controversies. All of this started after Freeman went to Atlanta for a three-game series.

However, Freeman is yet to say anything about the ongoing saga between him and his former agent, Casey Close. Per multiple reports, Freeman learned that his former agent did not tell him about the Braves’ offer during his recent visit to Atlanta. But, the Yankees legend believes that Casey Close is a man of morals, and he would not do something like that.
Jeter backs Casey Close amidst Freddie Freeman saga
Many people might not know, but Casey Close also represented Derek Jeter in his entire MLB career. Now, when people are questioning the loyalty of the MLB agent, Jeter has come into the support of Casey Close.
Taking to Twitter, Jeter said that he knows Close for over 30 years. And he has always been an honest person to date.
“I have known Casey since I was 18. Over the last 30 years, we have had our share of differences of opinion. But to this day, he remains a trusted advisor and friend,” Jeter tweeted. “He is a man who values morals, integrity and above all else, honesty and transparency.”

After winning the World Series with the Atlanta Braves in 2021, Freddie Freeman became a free agent. He wanted to stay at his former franchise. Since Freeman did not get any extension offer from the Braves, he accepted a long-term deal from the LA Dodgers.

Casey Close responds to allegations against him
Notably, the veteran agent works for Excel Sports. Casey Close also released a statement on the ongoing controversy. Close denied he did not communicate a contract offer to Freeman.

“I will not stand by as the circumstances surrounding Freddie Freeman’s departure from Atlanta are mischaracterized… To be clear, we communicated every offer that was made…” Close said in his statement.
Now, the main question is, even if Close hid an offer from the Braves, what benefited him? Only time will tell who is at fault here.
