New York Yankees are now a past for Joey Gallo. Notably, on the deadline day, the 2-time All-Star player got traded to the National League leaders, LA Dodgers. Though Gallo had a poor season in 2022, the Dodgers? interest in Joey Gallo surprised many people. Even Gallo would not expect himself to play for the Dodgers after a dreadful season he had.
Earlier on Monday, before his successful trade to the Dodgers, Gallo opened up about his failed tenure at the Yankees. The 28-year-old outfielder openly discussed how he could not be much of a help for the American League giants.

Now, Joey Gallo is a?Dodger, and the star outfielder has an excellent opportunity to prove his worth for another title contender team. While talking about his time in the Bronx, Gallo admitted he hit rock bottom in his baseball career.
Joey Gallo felt like a piece of s**t at the New York Yankees
What stands out the most about Gallo?s character is that he never shied away from admitting the fact that he was a failure at the New York Yankees. Since joining the Pinstripes from the Texas Rangers in the 2021 season, Gallo rarely had a good outing in the ballparks.
Per the New York Post, the former Yankees outfielder remembered a time when he felt terrible for the players who would get booed from the crowd for their poor performances. And how he felt after being on the same side in the past couple of months.
?People are a little sick of me here. I really don?t want to show my face too much around here. It makes me feel like a piece of s**t honestly,? Gallo said. ?I remember playing here with the Rangers, watching (Yankee players) get booed off the field and thinking, ?Holy s**t, I feel bad for the guy.? Now it?s me. I do appreciate people reaching out, but it makes me feel like I?m a problem.”

The Dodgers outfielder admitted that his confidence suffered at the Yankees.
?My confidence suffered,? added Joey Gallo. ?I would say I hit rock bottom for the big leagues. So for me, I just was trying to remember to be a good teammate, play the game the right way… And not do something that I?d regret.?
