Baseball is a game that’s been around for over a century now. Countless amazing players have since been on the diamond playing America’s pastime. While there are already many who have left a legacy for the upcoming generations to follow, there are also up-and-coming players who have started to leave their mark. One of those players is Toronto Blue Jays’ first baseman, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. It’s been only four years since Guerrero Jr. made his debut in the big league, and has already shown such great promise. 

At only 24 years of age, he has earned several accolades such as Gold Glove, Silver Slugger, AL Hank Aaron award, and many more. Guerrero Jr. started his professional baseball career by signing with the minor league team of the Jays. He’s been a Blue Jays ever since, and according to a recent interview, Vlad does not seem to have any plans on leaving.

While forging his own path, Vlad Jr. got inspired to play ball by his father, the Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero Sr. Junior got encouraged to play baseball as he saw his father swing at inside pitches, reach for outside pitches, and offer at eye-level pitches in a career mostly spent with the Expos and Angels. He even hit pitches that bounced.

Watching his father become who he is, has inspired Guerrero Jr., but playing the game with the Jays shaped him. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is pretty clear that he wants to stay with the Jays forever. In a recent interview with Sports Net, while talking about staying for long with the Jays, Guerrero Jr. said, “I want to spend all my life here!”

It’s not until the 2025 season that Junior will be entering free agency, but that does not stop him from thinking about his future with the team. And it seems like Jays and Vlad Jr.’s fans were only waiting for these words to hear.
