Luis Severino could be back in the main Yankees squad soon!

Luis Severino had a low-grade right lat strain and was on the 15-day injured list on March 27. After the proper treatment, he will start rehab on May 16. Somerset Patriots, the Double-A Affiliate to the New York Yankees shared this news on Twitter. The caption read, ” Sevy soon The @yankees have currently scheduled RHP Luis Severino for a rehab start in Somerset on Tuesday, May 16.”

According to Milb.com, the latest assignment of the Yankees star will be against the Reading Fightin Phils (affiliate team of the Philadelphia Phillies). The Somerset Patriots will play the game at TD Bank Ballpark, scheduled at 6:05 pm. Notably, it is not the first time Severino will play for the Patriots. The player had been involved in a few contests in the past and will look to repeat the same in the upcoming game.

Luis Severino is one of the established players in the league and has played a big part in the Yankees’ success. In 19 games of the last season, the player recorded a win percentage of 0.700 and a WAR of 1.7. Severino had an ERA of 3.18 in 102 innings pitched and claimed 118 strikeouts at a WHIP of 1.00.
