The New York Yankees keep digging deeper graves for themselves. After the disastrous decision to not improve the roster last off-season, the club is paying the price now. The only good thing to come out of last winter was Aaron Judge‘s nine-year, $360 million contract, but injuries derailed even his season. With a few good players here and there, the Bronx Bombers still don’t seem to realize the trouble they’re in.

Although the captain’s presence has done wonders for the bullpen, he’s unfortunately not a miracle worker. Underperformance still plagues them. While experience would suggest otherwise, the front office continues to employ players who are only hindering the team’s performance.

Luis Severino Making a Comeback Against the Atlanta Braves

That’s right, it’s yet another blunder. The Atlanta Braves have been among the best NL East teams this season, proudly leading one of the toughest divisions in the league. Given the talent that populates it, it’s no wonder they’re among postseason favorites this year. And against the best in the league, the Yankees have decided to put in a struggling pitcher.

Luis Severino has not had it easy this season, giving up runs left and right. His return from rehab gave fans hope before it came crashing down. The team has tried its level best to make him return to his former glory, but the Dominican right-hander is still facing trouble.

The latest opportunity for the ace to stay in the clubhouse comes next Tuesday, during the Yankees’ second night of three-game series. “Sevy’s in line to start Tuesday,” manager Aaron Boone said. “That’s the plan.”

It’s only possible since one of their pitching powerhouses, Nestor Cortes Jr., is going on the IL again. Because of a rotator cuff strain, it seems unlikely that Nasty Nestor will pitch again this season.

Fans Want New York Yankees to Treat Severino Better

There are endless statements of mockery for the Yankees starter and his struggles this season. But fans also understand that what Severino needs right now is to get back in shape, and the majors are not the place to do it.

Amid asking for a better plan for the pitcher, Bronx fans can’t help but berate the Yankees.

Some pointed out how the Braves have a good HR record, especially with Matt Olson joining an exclusive club with his 40 homers, the same as Shohei Ohtani this season.

Some were worried about Severino.

Maybe if the front office had invested more in the farm system, there would be more options than forcing a struggling player on the field. As it is, all one can hope for is that Sevy can salvage something at least.
