After the waves of high positivity, the situation has again changed for the New York Yankees. Their offense struggled, and there was room for improvement in their pitching. As a result, they have lost two of their last games by a large margin, losing grip on the race to the playoffs. Already short of options, they have suffered another setback after Luis Severino exited the contest against the Milwaukee Brewers in deep pain.

Severino had a tremendous last few games and was instrumental in the team’s push for the playoffs. It was visible in the team’s loss against the Brewers after his exit. Understandably, it was painful for the 29-Year-Old pitcher, who wanted to give his all for the team. But Severino’s exit has damaged the chances of more contribution this season. It has left him disheartened, and he addressed this feeling on his emotional exit from the Bronx stadium.

It was a tough outing for the New York Yankees. They not only lost another game but also lost another crucial player as they look to fight for the playoffs. It happened in the fifth inning of the game. Severino faced discomfort after pitching and left the field in pain. According to Yes Network, “Luis Severino exits the mound in the 5th inning after his 70th pitch of the night.”

The game changed after it. The scores were stable until Severino was on the mound. But the Yanks lost control after it and conceded six runs to lose the game with a score of 8-2. It was heartbreaking for the entire team and probably ended their playoff chances. The emotional pitcher reflected on the same thoughts while describing the incident that forced him to exit the field.

He said, “Just if you were like somebody shot me, it’s just like a deep, sharp pain”. When asked about his body condition, Severino shared, “I mean, I don’t get any better. I was like my whole body was feeling gray. Yes, no, I was not expecting this.”

He left on the note that nothing is clear about his future, but he is in deep pain. And it will take a day or more for exact analysis. And from the looks of this, it might end his season outing for the rest of the season. It also brings a question with it: What’s next for the New York Yankees?

Severino’s Injury Leaves Yankees in Deep Trouble

The 27-time champions are in trouble yet again. They have limited options after the $40 million ace’s injury which could derail their push for the playoffs. Given that they have not pitched well in the last few games, losing Severino is a big setback.

Moreover, their bullpens are showing enough composure, and neither Carlos Rodon has delivered when needed. With a visible slump in the offense, poor pitching is likely to add to their problems. With Gerrit Cole only left to be counted upon, the Yanks are without enough arson that could put them in front of the competition.
