A few days ago, the MLB world was abuzz after a historic Los Angeles Angels vs. Colorado Rockies game. Despite Shohei Otani’s lack of contribution, the Angels set a franchise record with 25 runs. The Halos were the talk of the town, and now, something similar has happened in college baseball.

Amidst the College World Series heat, fans have their expectations set on the LSU Tigers. A historically good team, the Tigers are up against the Florida Gators and punched a 4-3 victory in Game 1. The next day, LSU took an early 3-1 lead by the second inning, but the scoreboard could only record one more run on their side. After that, Florida burst onto the scene, determined to win. In the process, the Gators also set a record.

Game 2 ended with a dramatic 24-4 win for the Gators, with 24 being the most runs a team has scored in the College World Series. Game 1 was already tense because LSU made many mistakes, with a lack of offense. But on the second day, the pitching staff also seemed to have imploded. They gave up four home runs, with the offense again struggling after the third inning.

It was an absolute defeat for the Tigers, with the Gators crushing them mercilessly. Florida’s ace Hurston Waldrep struggled initially, but it only came off as nervous jitters. Because by the third inning, nothing went LSU’s way. It was a historic night, but safe to say Tigers’ fans were fuming.

Since the results forced a Game 3, many are hopeful for an LSU comeback. Some are optimistic that they will learn from their losses because, after all, tomorrow is a new day.

Baseball may be a team sport, but individual players are still unsafe from fire. This time, it’s LSU’s Jordan Thompson, who the team hopes will pick himself up soon.

Jordan Thompson’s struggles continue, but the LSU coach is hopeful

The head baseball coach of the LSU Tigers, Jay Johnson, is not wavering in supporting the Tigers’ star shortstop, who seems to have fallen upon hard times. A series of mistakes were made in Game 2, but the team coach still believes in him. “He’ll play tomorrow,” the coach said“There’s no question about it. He’s started every game for two years; he’s played very good shortstop this year.” Monday’s game will be the most crucial game of the season for the two teams as Jordan Thompson will be there with the rest of his teammates.
