College baseball is buzzing with excitement this season, and the LSU Tigers are right in the thick of it. On Tuesday, they traveled to Thibodaux to take on the Nicholls Colonels and secured a 5-3 victory. But beyond the action on the diamond, there was an unexpected twist that had everyone chuckling. Due to ongoing renovations at Ray E. Didier Field, the usual facilities were unavailable, leaving LSU’s players and coaches to rely on portable toilets—a situation that quickly became the talk of the town.

As the team queued up for the portable toilets, a snapshot of first baseman Jared Jones, fully suited up, caught everyone’s attention and quickly went viral. The image sparked laughter across social media and even had LSU’s head coach, Jay Johnson, in stitches during his appearance on the “Mik’d Up w/Mikie Mahtook” show.

Johnson recalled the incident when he was shown the picture of Jared Jones while traveling on the bus. He said, laughing, “That’s so classic. A funnier part of that is I went out there like three times, and I couldn’t get in there because there were people in there … and one time, I slipped and almost fell down and these little kids with Nicholls hats were laughing at me. It was something else.”Embracing the humor of the situation, Johnson even joked about bringing their own dugout port-a-potty for future games.

The Ben Meyer Diamond at the Ray E. Didier Field is going through the phase two renovation. It will bring some excellent transformation in the form of including the rooftop hospitality box, new offices for the coaches, public toilets, and more. Even the elevator will get some upgrades, along with 400 recliner seats too.

Meanwhile, Jay Johnson suggested another solution: to bring their own port-a-potty to the stadium in case they need to visit Nicholls again. Amid the fun chatter, LSU Tigers coach didn’t stop themselves from talking about how fun the game was, as they do not get to play a lot of these games. However, their winning streak came to a halt in the series opener.

LSU Tigers winning streak comes to a halt finally

It was not just the unexpected rain on Friday night but also the way the bats opened up for Auburn that resulted in the nine-game winning streak coming to a stop. The LSU fell by 8-4 to Auburn in the first game of the three-game series at the Plainsman Park. The lefty Kade Anderson allowed an easy five earned runs in the 4 1/3 innings. To make matters worse, the LSU failed to score a single run until the seventh inning. But that’s not all!

Auburn managed to score the first seven runs, with their star player, Ike Irish, making a three-run triple prior to the fifth inning. Despite scoring 10 runs on average per game, LSU only managed five offensive hits and was unable to score. Meanwhile, the starting pitcher for Auburn, Samuel Dutton, played a crucial role in limiting LSU to not posting a single run in his six innings while making seven strikeouts too. Auburn definitely had a good lineup, especially their at-bats, and also the pitchers who led their team to win over LSU. However, Coach Jay Johnson is hopeful that they will like to forget the past and focus on what’s going to happen in the present.
