Did you know when Derek Jeter first met his wife, he actually didn’t know anything about her? Believe it or not, that was the case, and neither did she! Picture this: Hannah and her mom spending a lovely mommy-daughter time in NYC when she ran into Derek and his friends. Hannah made such an impression that the former Yankee player still reminisces about it. Little did they know that meeting would be the start of something lifelong.

Now it’s been more than a decade since they met and they got engaged, married, and are parents of four lovely children. After all that time, they know each other like no one else could. Derek might be shy and introverted, but he has this charming playful side that comes out with his wife. We can see that side of him during their recent Q&A, where we saw the former Yankee superstar troll his wife for her choice of lipstick. But it was only a response.

Derek Jeter was enthralled by lipstick!

Derek Jeter and Hannah Jeter were answering some questions about their “firsts” experiences on the occasion of Jeep launching their all-new electric – Wagoneer S. They shared a fun banter throughout and in fact when the question of Derek’s first professional baseball experience came on, Hannah made a funny impression- well she knew what was coming. Derek whose experience of the time narrated the story, “My first professional game, I had a doubleheader. I was in rookie ball and I went 0-8, had seven strikeouts, and made two errors. As he recounted this tough day, he noted how Hannah made faces in response, adding with a chuckle, “Thanks for bringing it up.” But wait—things took a turn at the next question.

So when Derek was asked about the initial first impression of Hannah, he admitted that it was the red lipstick! He said on Instagram, “She had a lot of red lipstick on!” with a giggle. And as they say, “The redder the lipstick, the bolder the statement,” Hannah Davis made quite a statement when she met Derek Jeter. Hannah Jeter, however, recalls it differently and even said that it was the last time she wore red lipstick because apparently, it made her look like a clown. Well, clown or not, she sure captivated the heart of Deter Jeter. But the red lipstick isn’t the only iconic thing about their love story, because, can you believe it, Hannah had zero idea about Derek Jeter’s super famous career at Yankees.

And then their meeting was fruitful because, as it was off-season, Jeter had the time to give, to know, and learn more about each other. Moreover, given that Hannah had no idea or preconceived notions about him was a great factor in. In fact, she said in one interview, “I didn’t need much more to go on than this: I had met the nicest guy and I wanted to get to know him on my own terms. Not Google’s.” They were even spotted together publicly as the Yankees were headed to Florida. Their romance had everyone hooked on to them, Page 6 often covered them and the rumors of an engagement started coming through.

In 2015, Derek himself confirmed it. And finally, on July 9th, 2016, Derek and Hannah tied the knot at Meadowood Napa Valley Resort in St. Helena, California. Fast forward to today and they are happily married and recently had a baby boy and now have four kids, and it all started with that strong impression with that bold lipstick! Isn’t it incredible how a small detail can lead to a fairytale romance? And speaking of romance, Hannah just threw a massive party for Derek to celebrate his big 5-0! 

How Hannah brought in Derek Jeter’s Big 5-0!

Derek Jeter.is a private, introverted person. He is so introverted that he once had a 15-foot boundary wall built surrounding his house because he didn’t want people peeping in! So imagine his surprise when he saw a room full of people wishing him ‘Happy birthday’ – because this is exactly what happened in his big 5-0! The former baseball player was seen in a gray suit walking in at the venue and being awed by the crowd of friends and family. Hannah looked thrilled that her plan had worked beautifully, and she did go all in. She threw the lavish party at ZZ’s Club in New York, which is a private membership club in Hudson Yards. And the party was star-studded!

Many former Yankee members were present including CC Sabathia, Tino Martinez, Bernie Williams, and Jorge Posada. Even Joe Torre was present there. Well introverted, Derek not only posted pictures of the lovely day over at his Instagram but even shared a few snaps of him and his better half getting cozy as they sipped cocktails! Derek captioned his post, “When @hannahbjeter surprised me with an early bday party!” The carousel starts with a photo of the couple exiting an elevator at a members-only club.

Jeter’s life has always been pretty private, and since he sold his stake in the Marlins in 2022, he’s been even more under the radar. So, this party was a special treat for fans. We saw the former star having a great time, showing a different side of him.
