Be it getting some standing ovations, hitting a milestone, or even doing something big enough for their team to win the championships, baseball players often get to enjoy some big career moments.?But sometimes, these big moments can be laced with uncertainty. Most recently, former Boston Red Sox star Mookie Betts revealed a fear that he has about returning to Fenway Park.
Notably, Betts was unceremoniously traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in February 2020, following a fantastic time with the Red Sox. His past returns to Fenway Park have been great with fans cheering him on. But this time around, there is a new fear for Betts.

Even though Mookie Betts does not play for the Red Sox anymore, the Dodgers slugger is beloved among Red Sox fans. He was a franchise star, who led them to the 2018 World Series title. Betts has enjoyed applause on every return to Fenway Park. But with the pitch clock rule in place, he revealed that he is scared of getting a pitch clock violation while enjoying the applause from the fans. He revealed this fear in a recent conversation with Christian Yelich that BR walk-off shared on Instagram.

During the conversation, Betts said, ?Staying on the pitch clock situation, a couple of guys got banged when they had their going-home party. When I go back to Boston, I?m just gonna have to take a strike.? He then remembered that teams can submit a request 24 hours in advance in anticipation of a player receiving a standing ovation. Betts then said, ?I?m submitting it for ?em?, in a joking manner.

Betts had a reunion with two of his former Red Sox World Series-winning teammates during Spring Training. But although he loves the Boston-based MLB franchise and its fans, he made the team regret trading him almost immediately.?

In 2020, Mookie Betts was at the top of his game. The Red Sox traded him to the Dodgers in a bizarre move that baffled fans. But the star outfielder made the team regret it almost instantly. He would go on to help the Dodgers win a World Series that year, playing some great baseball. It was truly a gut punch to the Red Sox organization and its fanbase.
