If there is one place on almost everyone’s bucket list this summer, it’s Italy! The mouthwatering food and lovely weather lure everyone to its clenches, and now, it’s the 2024 Olympics! Alex Rodriguez and his family were off for their summer vacation in Italy, but while indulging in gelato and basking in the sun were their priority, the Rodriguez family had another motive. They wanted to give A-Rod a surprise birthday party, and they did! Everyone from his girlfriend Jaclyn Cordeiro to their sets of daughters from previous marriages, his mother Lourdes, and some of his friends, gave the Yankees star a birthday to remember.
After A-Rod wrapped up his getaway, though, he was back in the spotlight and was caught supporting Team USA and the Dominican Republic at the ongoing Paris Olympics. He shared his pictures over at his socials, however little did he know that not his support but his radiant glow would be the talk of the town—as they say a lovely tan can steal the show!

Paris Olympics saw multiple stars rooting for their country. Even A-Rod was there to support the United States and the Dominican Republic. He reached Paris after his Italian gateway and was even seen trying his hands on basketball! He was attempting three-pointers. Well, he may be a fourteen-time All-Star and a World Series Champion, but he isn’t that great with basketball. He missed each time!
Alex Rodriguez recently posted pictures on his Instagram holding flags and supporting Team USA and the Dominican Republic. He captioned the post, “Nothing like the Olympic spirit. What an incredible experience!” But rather than his enthusiastic support, it was his tan that stole the spotlight. Fans poked fun over his bronzed and sun-kissed look. And this isn’t even the first time that his tanned look has taken center stage.

Just a few months back, a similar vacation left him with a golden tan and fans went berserk. A-Rod had to come over to Instagram and explain his tan! He said, “All right everybody, I know that I’m dark, but I am Dominican, and I went on vacation and I fell asleep in the sun. So everybody calm down, it’s just a tan.” But let’s be real, who wouldn’t want to soak up some sun in Italy? It’s easy to understand the Yankees baseball star and his tan. Maybe he fell asleep this time too, however, fans are not cutting him any slack on social media.

One user said, “Has Ross tan in friends.” If you have watched the iconic American sitcom Friend’s you’d probably understand the reference. There is an episode where Ross Geller gets spray tan and it was a tan gown wrong, a botched job. He got sprayed 8 times on his face! The user compared A-Rod’s look to the hilarious look Geller had.

Another fan joked, “Alex, daddy, did you catch the sun for you? Or did you change Sammy Sosa’s cream formula???” Sammy Sosa, who shares a similar background with A-Rod, has major skin color controversies. In fact, if you compare his pictures before and after—his skin went maybe five or six shades lighter. Drawing a comparison, the fan asked if Alex Rodriguez, who darkened a few shades more after the Italian getaway, changed Sosa’s cream formula and used it!
One enthusiast said, “Alex looks like a gringo who was raised sunbathing” So, humans weren’t the only ones Alex Rodriguez compared to! Little did the MLB star know that a simple tan from his vacation will lead him to be compared to a gringo who spends all their time in the sun. Plus, A-Rod has rocked a tan quite a few times, especially now that he’s all about fitness and lifestyle with his girlfriend.
Echoing the same sentiment, one commenter wrote, “Oh father, it almost burned”! But this isn’t the first time Alex Rodriguez has been subject to a tan debacle. The memory of him being compared to carbon and an Oompa-Loompa from the infamous show Charlie and the Chocolate Factory might still be fresh after he was trolled earlier this year after a similar tan.

Another user remarked, “SPF-50” and another said, “Damm Arod what’s going on with your skin that can’t be healthy.” Some fans although mockingly seemed to be concerned about Alex’s skin. Some are even surprised because given the fact that Dominican background people don’t tan that easily.
While some comments were playful, some hurtful, and some funny in a light-hearted way, A-Rod’s tan sure did spark a flurry of comments. What’s your take on this? Let us know in the comments.
