Is it time for Mike Trout’s injury spell to break? Even though 2024 came like a storm for King Fish, at least he’s ending it well. Trout is perhaps the one player hoping for a Christmas miracle this year. Since 2020, he has barely played 50% of the games. However, while on the professional front, Trout may be struggling, his personal front seems to be excelling. That was quite visible in his latest Instagram post.

Despite all the setbacks, that post has given fans some reason to be optimistic. Trout has been active and out and about. He recently finished his golf course in collaboration with Tiger Woods. Plus, this three-time MVP shared his festive cheer with glimpses of Christmas celebrations with his family – his wife, Jessica and their two sons, Beckham and Jordy. There, Trout not only looked happy, but he also looked different.

Baseball is not everything to Trout. Just a quick scroll through his social media tells how he adores his family. From pulling an ultra-rare card with his son to attending a little league game, Trout is always there to support them. That love was visible again in his wholesome Christmas post on Instagram.

With Beckham giving his dad a hand, the LA Angels star wrapped Jordy in Christmas paper as the toddler just giggled in his swing. The caption of the post said, “When the family asks us what we got them for Christmas this year…,” perfectly capturing the festive chaos.

In another carousel, Trout posted snapshots of everyone in his family. In one photo, Trout was outside swinging Beckham as Jessica watched with a huge smile. But noticeably, the 33-year-old caught his fans’ attention with his unusually lean physique. Whether it is due to his rehab or because of his own conscious decision is unknown; but it intrigued everyone about his comeback in 2025.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Mike Trout's leaner physique finally break his injury curse and lead to a full season?

Fans looking forward to Trout’s return

Mike Trout’s new-found fitness has left his fans on cloud nine. But even then, a few had some queries about his health. One fan mentioned, “How’s your body feeling, Mike?” Well, he hasn’t yet given any statement. But Los Angeles Angels general manager Perry Minasian had said that Mike Trout has been recovering well. Minasian mentioned to Robert Murray of Fansided that Mike Trout is gearing up for spring training starting in February.

A concerned fan mentioned, “Praying for a healthy Mike Trout.” Most fans are worried, given Trout has struggled with injuries for five years. The last time Mike played a full season was the shortened season in 2020. After that, injuries have kept him off the diamond more than he would like. And during that span, multiple stars have leapt ahead of him in league standings.

But all were not concerned, some happy reactions were also seen. An optimistic user said, “Looking lean! Let’s go stay lean and play 10 more years!” Mike Trout does look lean, and it’s what many insiders have suggested that Trout should shed weight. “He’s beefy, he’s muscular, and I don’t know that he necessarily needs that… somebody’s gotta talk to Mike to get him to slim down a bit,” Locked on Angels podcast, host Jon Firsch and Mike Firsch had said. Seems like Mike Trout did listen up. Hopefully, this can reduce the risk of injuries further.

One follower said, “Merry Christmas, ask for a trade to Philly.” On paper, it seems a great deal; Mike Trout’s hometown is near Philadelphia. However, such a move is more fantasy than reality; Trout has a 12-year, $426.5 million contract. Former Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. said that the Philadelphia Phillies would have to get $200 million or more back to make a trade with the Los Angeles Angels.

A tensed fan said, “Don’t get hurt and land on the DL.” Mike Trout’s goal must be the same because he recently mentioned that he is open to changing his position – whether it’s moving to the corner or DHing more. Centerfield is taxing, and given Trout’s injury history, this move can be a game-changer.

Mike Trout clearly wants to be in the batter’s box and on the field every day. And it’s what even fans want. Do you think Trout can play the full season next year?
