The fans and players feel too passionately for the New York Yankees. Whether it is love or hate, people are quite open about their opinions. One such person, who has disliked the Yankees, is a new acquisition who has joined hands with his new team. As he signs with the Chicago White Sox to strengthen the team’s lineup, one can’t help but notice his feelings for the rival team.

The dislike dates back to a time when he played for the Toronto Blue Jays. As the unearthed tweet of his hate for the Yanks surfaces, it is hard not to notice that he never played for New York. That said, his new contract with Chicago might be a good stage for him to battle against the Bronx in 2024.

As per @JonHeyman’s, the NY Post journalist’s tweet, “Paul DeJong White Sox deal: $1.75M plus 250K incentives”. The shortstop who became a free agent this year would be able to fill up the gap that the White Sox has been grappling with. While he signed with his new team, the 30-year-old’s decade-long tweet might say why he did not go with the Yankees

Paul has never liked the Yanks. This is not speculation, he himself said it. So much so that over a decade ago, the shortstop who formerly played for the San Francisco Giants posted on Twitter, that he hated the mega-franchise. His tweet read, “I hate the yankees”. While his dislike for the team has finally resulted in him signing with Chicago, the team might actually see some drastic changes in the upcoming season.

The shortstop has been a valuable player in the past and was even selected for the 2019 All-Star team. He drove in 78 runs and hit 30 home runs in that season. After hitting 25 home runs in 2017, DeJong came in second place in the National League Rookie of the Year voting. Some time ago, this offseason, Chicago declined Tim Anderson’s club option. He went on to become a free agent. Now, with this signing, it seems likely that the door is shut for Anderson’s potential return via a different contract. One might think this move is likely made keeping in mind Colson Montgomery. He is White Sox’s projected future shortstop who is currently stopped in Triple-A. While there is more news on this yet to come, one can only wait and watch.
