Aaron Judge has been in the form of his life since coming back from a hip injury. The New York Yankees’ captain has helped the team win some big games since returning. But during the series against the Toronto Blue Jays, Judge was accused of cheating. Most recently, a veteran umpire came to the Yankees’ captain’s defense.

Judge has been proven innocent as a Blue Jays pitcher came forward to admit a mistake. The situation has still left a sour taste in fans’ mouths. But a most recent defense by an umpire adds another convincing reason to prove Judge’s innocence.

Veteran MLB umpire defends Aaron Judge for actions that led to cheating allegations

During a game between the Yankees and the Blue Jays, Aaron Judge was caught looking into his dugout. This led to allegations of cheating against the Bronx Bombers’ captain. Accusations of sign-stealing were thrown around as well. But no evidence has been found to prove Judge’s guilt. Most recently, a veteran umpire came to the Yankees captain’s defense. He said that Judge has done something like this before.

According to Newsday, a veteran MLB umpire said, “Absolutely. He’s done stuff like that before. Like [he’s saying], ‘This is not your at-bat, it’s my at-bat. Leave him [the umpire] alone. I’m at the plate, I’m man enough to handle my own business.’” This was a clear statement defending the Yankees’ captain.

Despite the controversy, Judge led the Yankees to a crucial series win over the Blue Jays. He played an integral role in that series and came up with some clutch hits. Judge’s great form was recently recognized as he picked up an award for his recent play.

Judge won the AL Player of the Week award

Aaron Judge has been awarded the AL Player of the Week award for his recent amazing play. The Yankees’ captain has been on a different level since returning from his hip injury. Furthermore, the Yankees have won 8 of the 11 games he’s played in since his comeback. The team has some great momentum as they continue to climb the AL East. Judge’s return has truly changed their fortunes for the better.
