With 27 World Championships and the title of being North America’s most successful Major League franchise to their name, it is almost unbelievable that the New York Yankees haven’t made it to a single World Series since 2009. But the fact of the matter is that the Pinstripes have failed to reach a single World Series in the last 14 years.

However, 2023 is expected to be different for every New Yorker. With Aaron Judge walking to the helm of the storied Bronx Bombers, and an additionally strengthened rotation with Carlos Rodon, the Yankees will field a refreshed lineup on Opening Day.

When Anthony Volpe was announced as the Yankees’ Opening Day shortstop, excitement was already at an all-time high across the Big Apple. Isiah Kiner-Falefa’s losing the race to Volpe added to the fan’s happiness and excitement. And now, feeding off the already heightened emotions, YES Network released a special promo ahead of the Yankees’ start against the Giants on opening day.

“It’s time to go earn our pinstripes,” is the chant of this commercial featuring historic Yankee moments from the Derek Jeter era along with a few scenes from Aaron Judge’s popular 2022 season, where the Yanks reached the ALCS, but got swept by the Astros.

Under the brand new reigns of Aaron Judge, the Yankee roster enters the season with a fresh mind and an extremely powerful team that could easily make it to the World Series. But will they? That’s an answer only time will tell.

While elaborating on the nerves before his first game as Yankee captain, and the start of a brand new $360 million contract, Judge said, “This is going to be special. Get a chance to play my first Opening Day as the captain, and getting a chance to play against a great organization. We’re going to have some fun.”
