The Tampa Bay Rays may make history this season. The MLB team was up against the Boston Red Sox last night and defeated them 9-7. Randy Arozarena, who gave a stellar performance during the World Baseball Classic, gave his team a strong start as he hit a three-run homer right in the first inning. In fact, the Rays are leading the league with 30 home runs this season already and Opening Day was only two weeks ago.

Wednesday’s win against the Red Sox is not only the team’s longest-winning streak but one more victory could tie them with the MLB record for most consecutive wins at the start of a season. The Tampa Bay team has been facing some difficulties regarding relocation from their old ballpark in St. Petersburg. But the players have not let issues off the field affect them and are dominating the league!

Fourteen days after Opening Day, the Rays are at 12-0 and show no signs of stopping. When the news was announced on Twitter, baseball fans had interesting responses. Most of them had to do with how the Rays’ opponents have not been conventionally strong teams.

Among negative opinions, some fans had a positive reaction.

Most thought the Rays’ undefeated streak was only natural when one looks at the teams they’ve been up against.

One fan admitted the Tampa Bay team impressed them but that they’d still like to see them compete against ‘good’ teams.

One fan, who’s apparently also a Swiftie, wants to see the singer in action rather than baseball!

The Atlanta Braves tie with the Milwaukee Brewers for the highest win record at a 13-0 start to a season. In 1982, new manager Joe Torre certainly knew what he was doing with the Braves. Five years later, the Brewers came in strong with a 13-0 win but then went on a 12-game losing streak. Further, the Milwaukee team missed the playoffs in 1987.
