Regardless of how good of a player one is, one can not perform their best in every single game. In baseball, whether they’re a pitcher or position player, goes through a period of bad form, something that is happening with the MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani. Recently, the LA Angels two-way phenom opened up about his slump in the ballparks, especially from the mound.

Ohtani has batted well recently, after overcoming a hitting slump in recent weeks. No doubt about that. But the Angels star has struggled with his pitching as of late and looks to be in a bad spot. But he opened up about what in particular is bothering his throws. 

Shohei Ohtani reveals the problem with his pitching

Shohei Ohtani is playing some great baseball this year as well. But not from both ends, something he is known for. The two-way phenom is struggling to pitch and most recently addressed those issues. According to The Athletic’s Sam Blum, Ohtani is unhappy with the way he is moving his body. That seems to be affecting his pitching and impacting his efficiency. Blum shared the update via Twitter. 

According to Blum’s Tweet, Ohtani said, “More than the command itself, I feel like it’s the way I’m moving my body. I feel like I’m being less efficient moving my body.” The Angels star shared a candid answer about his pitching, as he looks to find his form. The Angels are in the midst of one of their most important seasons as they challenge for the postseason.

Ohtani’s pitching may make or break what chances they have to see playoff action come October. But the 2021 AL MVP seems to be aware of the issues that he is facing. That will go a long way as he aims to go back to his best pitching form. 

Ohtani’s bad form is a mystery

Shohei Ohtani has surprised fans and experts with his recent pitching slump. This is because he had his best pitching year in 2022 and started 2023 well in the World Baseball Classic. Furthermore, he had a handful of great starts to begin the current MLB season. But in his last 8 games, he has allowed 3 or more runs 6 times and looked inconsistent. It will be interesting to see how he deals with this rough run of form.
