A decision from A’s owner John Fisher to move to Las Vegas started the conflict after the baseball world showed its displeasure. The situation got worse when $380 million for this move was approved. Also, like navigating through a treacherous maze, even if they managed to overcome this obstacle, the New York Mets face another daunting challenge, explained Ken Rosenthal.

Ken Rosenthal was part of the latest episode of?“The TK Show”?podcast. He and Tim Kawakami talked about the situation surrounding the Oakland Athletics’ move to Las Vegas. Ken stressed the unpleasant way this move is happening. He shared,?“Some of the large market clubs, from my understanding and the conversations I’ve had, are not happy with this.”

Pointing towards it could affect the voting process; Ken added,?“So those owners, we’ll see how vocal they are when the vote is taken. I suspect they’ll all fall in line as they always do, but maybe not. This is something to watch.” Ken shared another view from the few owners.

He added, “You have other owners who just want to see this resolved. They think of Vegas as a better market than maybe you and I think of it as. And they know if you get this resolved, you get Tampa Bay resolved, then baseball expands by two teams, who knows, maybe even back to Oakland.”?

He continued his conversation and synced the later thought with Commissioner Rob Manfred. It comes after Manfred justified the A’s move to Las Vegas with a 1.5 billion stadium in mind.

A’s await 75 percent test to complete Las Vegas dream

Though the A’s have a percentage of 1.5 billion in public funds, they are yet to finalize the path of funding the rest. Also, even if they clear this obstacle, they need approval with 75 percent votes from all the MLB owners allowing this change. With fans, lawmakers, and citizen against it, things can continuously change. Also, with silent voices against the move within the MLB, nothing is assured. It would be interesting to see what the future brings to the table.
