New York Yankees Once Enforced a Strict Rule to Protect Alex Rodriguez’s Ex Amid From Serious Jeopardy

The New York Yankees is of the biggest sporting franchises in the world and possibly the most well-known baseball team. Over the years, the team has had some of the biggest players in the world suiting up in pinstripes. This would make it understandable if some players didn’t get along with each other or weren’t that close.

Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter were perfect examples of this. Although they played on the Yankees together and looked okay, they didn’t seem to get along all the time. But one time, there was an incident involving these stars’ girlfriends and the Yankee organization got involved.

In 2009, Alex Rodriguez was in a highly publicized relationship with Kate Hudson. Derek Jeter, on the other hand, was dating Minka Kelly at the time. In an incident that occurred, Hudson was reportedly treated coldly and unpleasantly by Kelly. This led to the team stepping in and banning such incidents from happening again.

According to HuffPost, “The Yankees’ wives and girlfriends have been banned from trashing Kate Hudson after Page Six revealed there was coldness between her and Derek Jeter’s squeeze, Minka Kelly.” This is one of the few times that a fight between two Yankees stars’ girlfriends has been so highly publicized.

Some speculated that it was an extension of the rivalry and tension between A-Rod and Jeter at the time. Others stated that it was caused by Hudson’s wanting to be in the limelight all the time. Furthermore, it was reported that some of the other Yankee’s wives and girlfriends were taking sides. But unfortunately, the drama didn’t last long as A-Rod and Hudson broke up a short while later
