Most recently, a viral Ugandan prospect made a significant stride toward his MLB dream. This comes after an immense struggle and years of hard work. 

The MLB is made up of the best baseball players around the world, and a high level of talent. But this Ugandan prospect persevered amidst many obstacles and got one step closer to achieving his dream. 

Kasumba Dennis arrives in the USA after visa struggles

Kasumba Dennis is a viral baseball prospect from Uganda. The 18-year-old garnered attention from baseball experts and media people through his viral training videos. Dennis did not have access to proper equipment and would train using worn-out and makeshift equipment. But his perseverance has earned him a road to make the MLB. Most recently, he arrived in America, making his first step toward the big leagues. MLB insider Ben Verlander shared an update via Twitter. 

In a Tweet, he said, “🚨KASUMBA UPDATE🚨 He has made it to America!! He was very overwhelmed by the airport but has made it safely and has so great help looking after him. The journey is just beginning.”

Dennis had serious doubts over whether he would get his visa, but the American Embassy in Uganda finally approved it.

This is a big step for the struggling orphan as he overcomes massive boundaries to pursue his MLB dream. It will be a big change for the Ugandan 18-year-old as he will receive adequate equipment. Furthermore, Dennis will train with some elite young talents as he prepares for the MLB. 

Dennis will play in the MLB Draft League

Upon arriving in the USA, Kasumba Dennis will get his first taste of American organized baseball. He will play for the Frederick Keys in the MLB Draft League during the summer. It is a League that showcases the top draft-eligible prospects in the months before the MLB Draft. Dennis will be able to showcase his skills and hone his talent with some of the best young players in the nation.
