There has been no shortage of unpredictability in this MLB season. Many teams prevailed over the odds as underdogs, and many star-studded teams have faced up and downs. With competitiveness and the fight of playoffs increasing, teams are looking to get better. And for that, trading players is an option. As the trade deadline is just days away, they are trying to complete it as soon as possible. And in that line, the Rangers could be one team with the signing of Justin Verlander.
According to the latest reports, the AL West leaders are in a prime spot of having reigning AL Cy Young Award winner, Justin Verlander, on their squad. This signing can give them a great option on the mound, but fans are not favoring this move. Reacting to the latest update, they have shared their apprehensions on social media.

Though the Rangers have done well this season, they could be in better shape lately. Much of it is because of their poor pitching. And with teams catching up in their division with better performances, they can not afford to be casual. So, for improving their pitching, they are eyeing the experienced Justin.
Talkin’ Baseball, quoting Brian McTaggart, shared this news. It read, “The Rangers are the reported frontrunner for Justin Verlander. The Astros are also interested.”

Given Justin Verlander’s age, it makes one wonder about Rangers’ decision to sign him. But there is no substitute for the experience that Justin posses.
Currently, on an $86 million contract, Justin has done decent for the Mets. After a slow start, he has caught up to his best with a win-loss record of 5-5, 76 Ks, and an ERA of 3.24. This makes him a great asset to have for options on the mound.
The Rangers, noticing the same, were trying to get him on the team. But his no-trade clause plus interest from the Houston Astros, whom he played for amid all the controversies, could complicate the situation for them.
And even if they overcome it, they have to pass the test of fans, who are not in favor of signing Justin.
Rangers Fan Brings Injury Concerns to the Table
The Rangers fans favor having an option on the mound but have concerns about Justin being that option. Already lost Jacob deGrom because of an injury, they feel Justin’s age also adds to the injury problems. And with the trade deadline coming to a close, if he gets injured, it would leave them with no options to sign.
