The 2023 season finished on a historic note with the Texas Rangers lifting their first World Series trophy. But the excitement for baseball has not died, all thanks to the start of free agency. Multiple players, including two-way phenomenon Shohei Ohtani, have become free agents. Due to this, all eyes are on the market as fans await their favorites to choose new homes. Now, a 38-year-old Boston Red Sox veteran has joined the list, making it an engaging affair.
Justin Turner was on the Boston Red Sox ranks for a year. Though they could not make it to the playoffs, he had a decent season. Considering this, many predicted him to continue in Boston, but he has chosen a different path. Given his age, it could be tough for him to find a team. But given his experience, many teams could benefit from it. Who are they?

The designated hitter is now in the market for a new city. Reportedly, he declined an offer from the BoSox to continue in Boston, ending his career in red and blue. Beantown regrettably ended the season at the bottom of the AL East after a disappointing few seasons. So it’s understandable why Justin Turner may want a switch.

Notably, in one year for the Red Sox, Turner played 146 games. Averaging 0.276, the designated hitter scored 86 runs, 23 home runs, and 96 RBIs at an OPS of 0.900. He finished as the second-highest contributor for the team, which prompted Boston to offer him a player option.
However, the slugger has rejected that and has gone into the market for a new team. But given his age, it would be interesting to see how the agency treats his arrival. If he is to choose a team, what are the favorite places where the veteran can play next?
Possible Teams Where the Star Player Can Move Next
It has been an amazing career for Turner. He won the World Series with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2020. However, his move to the Red Sox did not materialize for him similarly, making him look for a change.

Although not many would be interested, some clubs could make a move given his experience – veterans are not to be discounted. It includes the Los Angeles Angels, who will almost certainly lose Shohei Ohtani, and possibly even Mike Trout, although the 11x All-Star wants to continue in LA. The Halos may want Justin Turner, who can act as a mentor as they look to rebuild.

Similarly, the New York Mets are one of those who know him well. Struggling to cope with the payroll budget, the Mets can have him on the squad to have depth for the next season. Notably, the Los Angeles Dodgers, with whom he spent multiple years, might offer him a position on the squad too.
Plus, his presence will help them counter the absence of J.D. Martinez, who may not continue for another season. Although there’s a lack of upfront options, there are teams where Turner can fit in well. Which team will he choose? And which team will choose him in return?
