Injuries are a part of almost every sport that’s ever been played. However, if an injury happens in a team sport, it can take out the strength of an entire team. And that seems to be the case these days in Major League Baseball. With many athletes being on the injured list, their teams are crumbling. Most recently, American League’s Chicago White Sox joined this list. While already being at the bottom of AL Central, losing one of their best to the injured list has put them in even more trouble.

Adding to the story that their outfielder, Eloy Jimenez, who is already injury prone, has put a cut in already a bleeding wound.

What happened to the Chicago White Sox outfielder?

Even before making his MLB debut in 2019, Jimenez remained on the injured list a couple of times. That did not change when he signed the richest contract ever for a player with no service time before his major-league debut.

It’s been over four years since then, but every now and then, Jimenez, somehow by no fault of his own, ends up on the injured list. This time is also the same. Last night, the Twitter handle of the White Sox announced that after a night of abdominal pain, Jimenez underwent an appendectomy. Hence, he’ll probably be out on the IL for about 4-6 weeks for recovery.

As soon as this news went up on Twitter, fans started to brutally bash the athlete for staying injury prone.

What are the fans saying about the White Sox’s latest announcement?

The fanbase is becoming wild with the idea of the team staying at the bottom. Hence, they want the management to trade Eloy as soon as possible, and find a player who can help win something. Meanwhile, they also want the owner of the franchise, Jerry Reinsdorf, to not wait anymore and sell the team.

Following are some of the fans’ reactions to the White Sox’s announcement:

Some thought the team is either cursed or the front office is overreacting.

Seems like no one is happy with how things are going for the White Sox.

There are some baseball fans who think that the team is, in fact, cursed and that a 4-6 weeks’ time of recovery is a much longer time for anyone.
