Without any doubt, Aaron Judge was the talk of MLB town, the Bay Area, and the Big Apple throughout the offseason. After making his MLB debut with the New York Yankees in 2016, the giant 6 feet 7 inches tall outfielder was preparing to enter free agency, which triggered a massive bidding war between the Giants and Pinstripes. Ultimately, the storied Steinbrenner family’s Yankees retained Judge and appointed him as captain after signing him to a nine-year, $360 million contract.

But imagine, if after all the offseason chaos, bidding wars, and a whopping contract, Judge were to sit out of 2023 due to injury?

There is definitely some tension in the Pinstripes front office, and with the most recent update on Judge’s condition, fans are starting to get worried too.

A day after Aaron Judge sits on the sidelines, New York Yankees lose to the Rangers

One day after Judge hurt his right wrist while sliding into third at Target Field against Minnesota, he had to leave the game against Texas Rangers with some discomfort in his right hip. In the start, both the captain and skipper believed that Judge sitting out the second game was just a precaution and that he’ll be back in no time.

But as reported by Talkin Yanks, and confirmed by Aaron Boone, the 2022 AL MVP will undergo an MRI on his hip, and based on the results, minor leaguer-outfielder and baseman Jake Bauers will be called in.

Aaron Boone spoke about Judge’s injury after the second game, and said, “It doesn’t seem too serious, but that said, we still don’t have a clear picture of it yet. It seems like it could be day to day, but it also could be a short [IL] stint. We’ll have to see when Dr. [Christopher] Ahmad weighs in.”
