The New York Yankees were soaring high with Harrison Bader in their starting lineup, especially during their postseason run last year. But a recent injury has grounded the outfielder for an uncertain timeline. Notably, during a Spring Training game against his former team, Bader felt a twinge in his side after taking a swing during his second at-bat. And then manager Aaron Boone confirmed that the Gold Glove winner had suffered a left oblique strain, which meant he’ll be out of action for a while.

It’s a blow for the athlete, who had become a principal player in the team since his trade from the St. Louis Cardinals. Meanwhile, Bryan Hoch, an insider reporter of the team, has relayed the words of the management who have given the timeline of the player’s return. Given the Yanks are already struggling with injuries to their several players even before the opening day, the Yankees fans expressed their disappointment with Bader’s injury.

As expected, reactions to this news have been mixed. Some fans are relieved that Bader’s absence will be relatively short-lived, while others are taking a dramatic approach, expressing their frustration and disappointment in rather vibrant ways.

Meanwhile, some fans are already speculating about how the team will adjust to playing without the outfielder for a while. The starting lineup is sure to look different without his amazing fielding skills, but worry not, the Yankees have a deep bench.

In the end, one thing is clear: Yankees fans are feeling the player’s absence and are eagerly awaiting his return to the field.

The New York Yankees have hit a few bumps this off-season:

Harrison Bader wasn’t the first announcement the New York Yankees made about injuries regarding their players. The team has had a long winding road of ups and downs in recent times, with multiple injury announcements causing concern among fans. Before Bader, the news was of the left-handed pitcher Carlos Rodon, who will begin the season on the injury list due to a mild-forearm strain, while two of the team relievers will also start on the injury list.

However, GM Brian Cashman is positive that Rodon will be back on the field in April. In the midst of these injuries, the management has been exploring options for the team’s starting lineup. One possibility is shifting the captain of the team, Aaron Judge, to center field if the Bader is unable to start the season.
