Aaron Judge has an admirable work ethic that makes him the star player that he is. After making his MLB debut in 2016, Judge has gone on to break various records in league history. The Steinbrenners even named Judge the sixteenth captain of the New York Yankees lately. A position that was left unfulfilled since Derek Jeter retired in 2014. But even after all these achievements and accolades, the 30-year-old remains humble.
The outfielder has often been compared to Jeter for his humility and gentlemanly nature. Both players are icons in their own right but neither has let the glory go to their head. Judge has always reacted with surprise at being mentioned in the same sentence as some baseball greats. But even after breaking the records of or being compared to legends like Roger Maris or Babe Ruth, All-Rise remains deferential.

In an interview with NFL superstar Tom Brady and sportscaster Jim Gray, Judge talked about how he’s just trying to do his job and how the insane atmosphere of Yankee Stadium motivates him to give his best. When Brady praised him for his lack of vanity, Judge mentioned something about the Yankees stadium.
“…Here at Yankees stadium, before we go out to our dugout, we have a little sign that just says, ‘just do your job.’ And I always just kinda tap that on my way out to the field…” Judge told Brady. The reigning AL MVP said it reminds him that anything can happen in a game, so he just has to give his best.
And Brady was once so impressed by Judge that he tried to recruit him to the NFL!

If someone is playing for the big leagues, whatever their sport, hard work is a given. Practicing for hours on any given day for months on end is how you get to the top. And of course, natural talent plays a role. 6’7″ Aaron Judge certainly has the stature of an athlete, but he stays consistent with training on the baseball diamond.
Judge’s Twitter bio reads, “If what you did yesterday still seems big today, then you haven’t done anything today!” And the Yankee has taken this strategy to heart. Before an All-Star MLB game in LA, Judge said, “The minute I’m satisfied is the minute I kind of sit back and take a break and look up, then you’ll get complacent and I don’t want to be complacent.”
