“Just Call Me The Captain”: Derek Jeter Steals the Show Alongside Miami Marlins Youngster in Cool MLB The Show 23 Commercial

Derek Jeter – shortstop, a legend and the moment, is all geared up to make his virtual appearance in the upcoming MLB the Show 23 game. To promote the game, he has reunited with Miami Marlins outfielder Jazz Chisholm in a captivating new commercial. The video opens, with Chisholm grabbing the console to play the game. As he picks up a call, Jeter pops up on the other side, asking, “MLB the Show Legend Line, ready to play?”

It then transitions to the game, showcasing different players in action, including Jeter’s iconic mid-air shortstop move. “Check out the new storylines,” he says, introducing a new addition to the game, “you could even play as one of the Negro League baseball legends.”

Jazz then wonders aloud, “Your voice sounds familiar, do I know you?” – A salute to Jeter as he was the former owner of the Miami Marlins. To this, Jeter responds by introducing his own special edition, “Just call me the captain.” The game is set to hit the market with the Digital Deluxe Edition or the Captain on March 24, 2023, offering early access to the players.
