Mistakes happen, but sometimes they cannot be reversed. They can only be owned up, and that’s what Jurickson Profar did. Profar is a 29-year-old player who got re-signed by the Padres for three years after a great season in 2020.

In the Padres v/s Brewers match last night, Profar made a mistake in the ballpark. After which, he got criticized by his teammates over it. At the end of the sixth inning, Machado, Soto, and Musgrove confronted Profar about his on-field mistake.?
Why was Jurickson Profar criticized by his teammates?
Acting smart does not always work. It certainly did not work for Profar when he caught the ball and challenged the Marlins’ batter to run. However, Profar, for some reason, held onto the ball for a while. It led to a late throw, and for the batter to reach the base on time.

The result of the match could have been 2-0, but because of the mistake made by Profar, it became 3-0. Then, at the end of the sixth inning, when Profar went to the dugout, he faced a heated confrontation with his teammates Soto, Machado, and Musgrove.

What happened on the field was a big deal, and it certainly could have been avoided if Profar had thrown the ball on time.
Did Profar apologize for his mistake?
Even if the team was losing the match, one less run would have made a tremendous difference for the whole team. When a player is playing on the field, he is not expected to make mistakes, though it happens from time to time. He is expected to play and help the team win. Profar could have made excuses for what happened on the field, but he did not. He chose to own up to his mistake and apologized for the same.
